Lesson 11: “Careers and Weather” from University Corporation for Atmospheric Research


Objectives:  After completing this lesson, students will be able to:

·        describe the effects of weather on a career of their choice.

·        write a story using weather vocabulary


Key Question: How does the weather affect different jobs?


Overview:  Here is a single-session activity to link weather knowledge to work activities, and also to bring written composition into the science curriculum.


Time required:  30-45 minutes



·        Pencil/pen

·        Careers and Weather worksheet


Procedure:  See Careers and Weather lesson guide and student worksheet, attached below.


Assessment:  Students write a short story highlighting the effects of weather.
